Amplified Bible (AMP)
Oil and perfume rejoice the heart; so does the sweetness of a friend’s counsel that comes from the heart.
In my Bible, I wrote next to this verse, "Make me a friend like this, Lord."
Since then, countless opportunities have presented giving me the opportunity to speak "sweet counsel."
What is "sweet counsel"?
What is "sweet counsel"?
- listening to another person using God's heart as the filter
- hearing what is said and perceiving what is not said
- seeing past the present circumstances and into the person's destiny
- asking God how to respond, before giving human advice
Sweet counsel causes a person's heart to rejoice!
Lord, empower us with the ability to give others "sweet counsel." Let us be like You as we encourage and bring life to others by using our words. In Jesus' name, AMEN!!!
