“But if you will not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those you let remain of them shall be as pricks in your eyes and as thorns in your sides, and they shall vex you in the land in which you dwell. And as I thought to do to them, so will I do to you.”
There is a hefty price to be paid for idolatry. Body, soul and spirit all suffer the effects from choosing someone or something else over the One True God. Because He loves us, He won’t allow comfort with sin in His kids. If we are born of God, then entertaining sin in our hearts is like taking in a known deadly poison…it doesn’t end well.
BUT, Jesus!
Graciously, His Spirit searches our hearts, rooting out any thing that doesn’t belong, any poison which may kill. If we humble ourselves, Grace is poured out and the power of this false god is broken in us by the Power released through the cross.
Root out, search out, get all out of me any thing that is not pleasing to You, Lord! AMEN!!!
