2 Samuel 10, 1 Chronicles 19, and Psalm 20: In Whom Do You Trust?

Psalm 20:7
Amplified Bible (AMP)

"Some trust in and boast of chariots and some of horses, but we will trust in and boast of the name of the Lord our God."

Man's strength. Man's wisdom. Chariots and horses represent man's strength and wisdom apart from God. We have benefited from man's strength and wisdom through technological advances and modern conveniences, but do we realize that all that we enjoy has been given as a gift from an eternal God?  Or, do we covet and trust in the things of this world which are passing away?

There is nothing wrong with these things as long as we recognize them for what they are...blessings. However, blessings were never made to usurp our dependence on the Lord.

When faced with a life-threatening decision in whom do you trust? When life is coasting along and everything is flowing smoothly in whom do you trust? When you realize that your life is a brief as the grass growing up in the morning and withering in the evening in whom do you trust?  When your world is torn apart, and you heart hurts so much that you feel you can't go on living in whom do you trust?

The Lord says, "Do not trust in the horses and chariots of men. Trust in Me."

I trust You, Lord!!!

Proverbs 3:5
Amplified Bible (AMP)

"Lean on, trust in, and be confident in the Lord with all your heart and mind and do not rely on your own insight or understanding."
