Matthew 7: Keep on Asking, Seeking, and Knocking

Matthew 7:7-8
Amplified Bible, Classic Edition (AMPC)

7 Keep on asking and it will be given you; keep on seeking and you will find; keep on knocking [reverently] and [the door] will be opened to you.

For everyone who keeps on asking receives; and he who keeps on seeking finds; and to him who keeps on knocking, [the door] will be opened.

The Lord has promised me that 2016 will be filled with "amazing surprises."  The year is not even halfway complete, and I already have been experiencing the promised "amazing surprises."  My older son is being blessed with new career opportunities, my younger son has returned home from living in Kansas since September, my husband is managing hypertension with diet and exercise, and I have been promoted at work to a position, which I did not seek.

All of these "amazing surprises" have been answers to prayers, and all have been the result of asking the Lord to intervene regarding issues touching my heart, seeking God's will regarding various situations, and then knocking reverently and persistently on the "door to the throne room."

I look forward to the remainder of 2016 with faithful expectation, denying any doubt that attempts to stir anxiety while I await for the fulfillment of longstanding unanswered prayers.  Abba is a good, good Father.  He gives me the desires of my heart and blessings for which I hadn't even imagined asking.

Psalm 126: Statistical Grace

Psalm 126:3
Amplified Bible (AMP)

The Lord has done great things for us! We are glad!

I'm thankful, extremely thankful!!!  Today, I finished a course in statistics by taking a proctored final examination at the Penn State Harrisburg.  You see, I'm not naturally gifted in the mathematical sciences.  I tend to excel in creative writing.

Give me symbolism or give me...symbolism.

Yet, I finished well today, and I can only attribute it to God pouring out His grace.  From the beginning of the course in May, I know that in order to be successful in statistics, grace would be absolutely imperative.

Statistics was one of those subjects that required a great amount of studying, but God empowered me to understand the foreign topics of discreet random variables, chi-square analysis, and regression.  In my natural weakness, His grace prevailed allowing me to finish well.

Applying this concept to my path here on earth, walking out my faith as I live this life, my confidence is bolstered that His grace empowers me in areas much more vital than a four-credit college course.  His grace empowers me to walk out holiness and live righteously.  His grace gives me the strength to say, "no" to temptation.  These qualities are vital, eternal qualities.

Yet, God has a plan, even in statistics.  He is building a future in which I will influence many for Him and finishing statistics brings me a little closer to that future.

The Lord has done great things for me, and I am glad!

Psalm 124: If It Had Not Been for the Lord

Psalm 124
Amplified Bible (AMP)

A Song of Ascents. Of David.

If it had not been the Lord Who was on our side—now may Israel say—
If it had not been the Lord Who was on our side when men rose up against us,
Then they would have quickly swallowed us up alive when their wrath was kindled against us;
Then the waters would have overwhelmed us and swept us away, the torrent would have gone over us;
Then the proud waters would have gone over us.
Blessed be the Lord, Who has not given us as prey to their teeth!
We are like a bird escaped from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped!
Our help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
I can't stop remembering the past and comparing it to the present!  I am so thankful!!!   Psalm 124 beautifully describes what would have happened to Israel if the Lord had not been on their side.  Thinking about my own life, I think about what would have happened to me if the Lord had not been on my side.  I take this Psalm personally, and I encourage all of you to apply it to your life as well, remembering that man (or woman) is not our enemy, but the evil one who whispers lies and stirs up contentions is our true enemy.
If it had not been the Lord Who was on my side when the evil one rose up against me, then he would have quickly swallowed me up alive when his wrath was kindled against me.
The waters would have overwhelmed me and swept me away, the torrent would have gone over me.
The proud waters would have gone over me.
Blessed be my Abba, Who has not given me as prey to his teeth!
I am like a bird escaped from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and I have escaped!
My Help is in the name of the Lord, Who made heaven and earth.
This morning, I remember the past and give praise to my God Who was on my side, is on my side and will always be on my side!  If I "feel" like all is against me, I will remember that the Author of Everything has my back.  All for His glory!!!

If Grace is an Ocean

This reminds me of a dream I had several years ago. I had fallen through the ice and was sinking deeper and deeper, but I was not suffocating. The deeper I sank, the more I was enveloped by peace and love. What is awesome is during that time in my life, I had momentary encounters with peace. At that point in my walk with Jesus, I knew His love, but peace in the storm was fleeting. Today, I am the woman portrayed in this picture. Last night before going to sleep, I thanked Abba for the gift of peace.

May, you, my friends also find Peace in the storms of life. May you know that love of the Eternal One!

 Much Love...

Doing Psalm 104

I drove to Berks PSU Campus today.  What a lovely drive!  Worship music filled the car.  The Presence of the Lord was gently powerful.  My attention was drawn to the exit number 104, while glancing at the time, 1004.  I felt His still small voice say, "Read Psalm 104.

I read, and was blessed.  My God surely knows how to encourage!

He again was speaking to me regarding, "wind."  I find it interesting that I driving in mountains and valleys today, while praising the Lord.  I was "doing" Psalm 104.  Enjoy!

Psalm 104
Amplified Bible (AMP)

1 Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul! O Lord my God, You are very great! You are clothed with honor and majesty—

2 [You are the One] Who covers Yourself with light as with a garment, Who stretches out the heavens like a curtain or a tent,

3 Who lays the beams of the upper room of His abode in the waters [above the firmament], Who makes the clouds His chariot, Who walks on the wings of the wind,

4 Who makes winds His messengers, flames of fire His ministers.

5 You laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be moved forever.

6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.

7 At Your rebuke they fled; at the voice of Your thunder they hastened away.

8 The mountains rose, the valleys sank down to the place which You appointed for them.

9 You have set a boundary [for the waters] which they may not pass over, that they turn not again to deluge the earth.

10 He sends forth springs into the valleys; their waters run among the mountains.

11 They give drink to every [wild] beast of the field; the wild asses quench their thirst there.

12 Beside them the birds of the heavens have their nests; they sing among the branches.

13 He waters the mountains from His upper rooms; the earth is satisfied and abounds with the fruit of His works.

14 He causes vegetation to grow for the cattle, and all that the earth produces for man to cultivate, that he may bring forth food out of the earth—

15 And wine that gladdens the heart of man, to make his face shine more than oil, and bread to support, refresh, and strengthen man’s heart.

16 The trees of the Lord are watered abundantly and are filled with sap, the cedars of Lebanon which He has planted,

17 Where the birds make their nests; as for the stork, the fir trees are her house.

18 The high mountains are for the wild goats; the rocks are a refuge for the conies and badgers.

19 [The Lord] appointed the moon for the seasons; the sun knows [the exact time of] its setting.

20 You [O Lord] make darkness and it becomes night, in which creeps forth every wild beast of the forest.

21 The young lions roar after their prey and seek their food from God.

22 When the sun arises, they withdraw themselves and lie down in their dens.

23 Man goes forth to his work and remains at his task until evening.

24 O Lord, how many and varied are Your works! In wisdom have You made them all; the earth is full of Your riches and Your creatures.

25 Yonder is the sea, great and wide, in which are swarms of innumerable creeping things, creatures both small and great.

26 There go the ships of the sea, and Leviathan (the sea monster), which You have formed to sport in it.

27 These all wait and are dependent upon You, that You may give them their food in due season.

28 When You give it to them, they gather it up; You open Your hand, and they are filled with good things.

29 When You hide Your face, they are troubled and dismayed; when You take away their breath, they die and return to their dust.

30 When You send forth Your Spirit and give them breath, they are created, and You replenish the face of the ground.

31 May the glory of the Lord endure forever; may the Lord rejoice in His works—

32 Who looks on the earth, and it quakes and trembles, Who touches the mountains, and they smoke!

33 I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have any being.

34 May my meditation be sweet to Him; as for me, I will rejoice in the Lord.

35 Let sinners be consumed from the earth, and let the wicked be no more. Bless (affectionately, gratefully praise) the Lord, O my soul! Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)

Even As My Soul Prospers

Dear Praying Friends and Family,

My soul has been prospering!  Thankfulness has been overwhelming my soul for all the wonderful blessings the Lord has been lavishing on me.  Peace and rest now rule a soul once stirred by every storm front.  That is reality, and it does not change with this new storm development.

Yesterday, my plastic surgeon checked an area of suspicion on my right side afterwards declaring that it must be surgically removed for biopsy.  He feels it may be scar tissue or possibly a lymph node.  The formation of scar tissue would be a normal result of all the surgical procedures from 2011, but being able to feel a lymph node is not normal.

I am scheduled for surgery on September 26th at Harrisburg Hospital.

Please Pray...

*that the lump is benign.

*that it is not a lymph node.  The more lymph nodes removed, the more chance for lymph edema, which would cause swelling in my arm and an increased risk for infection.

*that my soul continues in peace and rest.

*that my life would shine as an example of what trusting Jesus looks like no matter what type of storm presents.

*that my men (Strongman, Consecrated and Fire) would walk out their destinies and not be distracted by my physical challenges.

I just completed another race this past Saturday and continue to see increased strength and health rise up in me!  My physical body IS prospering just like my soul is prospering!

Thank you for standing with me in prayer as the Holy Spirit directs!

My Love Continues Always...

Beautiful Grace

3 John 1:2

Amplified Bible (AMP)
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in every way and [that your body] may keep well, even as [I know] your soul keeps well and prospers.

Health Update: The Bride of Christ is Beautiful!

Dear Friends,

My health has been flourishing!  I continue with my dietary and exercise changes, and I am seeing much improvement in my clarity of thought, muscular strength, endurance, and complexion...all benefits from a healthy lifestyle!

The only physical difficulty that has resurfaced is an old right lower back and hip issue.  I believe that toning my muscles without proper stretching is the cause.  My wonderful friend, Pure-hearted Prayer, prayed for me and it resolved only to resurface two days ago.  It really hurts as it pinches my sciatic nerve and sends electric pain from my hip to my big toe; It even interferes with my sleeping during the times it is aggravated.

I met with my oncologist yesterday.  I had had a series of hormonal tests completed approximately 3 weeks ago, which according to his point of view, were great.  He commented, "You must be doing something right."  He also said, "I think you've seen enough doctors lately.  I won't need to see you until January."  :)  He admitted it was difficult for him as a doctor not to prescribe medication, but he didn't place any pressure on me.  :)

Surgery in order to replace the expander on the left side and to insert the permanent prosthesis on the right is scheduled for tomorrow.  I am not scared, but I do feel a sense of hesitation in regards to this procedure.  Memories of the left side's infection are most probably the cause.

Praises
  • I have had opportunities to prophetically encourage others!  It's how God made me, and enjoy expressing His love in this way!!!
  • I am now running exactly 1/2 of the 5k distance and walk the remainder.  I am planning on actually competing in an official race the end of September.  My goal is to run the entire distance.
  • I have added swimming laps to my exercise routine and now am able to swim 400 yards in 12 minutes!  Thank you, Chrispy for encouraging me in my exercise routine.
  • I am learning more and more about alternative foods.
  • I found a non-dairy, non-soy, cheese substitute and was excited to be able to eat a toasted cheese sandwich again.  ;)
  • Eating "Beautiful Grace's Frozen Treat" has curbed my summertime craving for ice cream.  ;)
  • My family, friends, and co-workers continue to show their support and love.  Can anyone say, "BLESSED"?!?!
  • The fear of man thing has attempted to resurface a few times, BUT God immediately intervened before any agitation of soul could commence.  Yay, Jesus!!! :)
  • The Lord is reminding me of what I tell my patients.  I cannot change the thoughts, words or behavior of others.  I can only choose my response to them...my thoughts, my words, my behavior.  My choice is to forgive and love, love, love!!!  No evil hook will be lodged in me!!!
  • According to the blood test, my cortizol level is within normal limits.  This hormone is released when the body undergoes physical and/or emotional stress.  Man's test confirms the peace I have been experiencing in my soul.  Yay, Jesus!!!
  • The blood test also revealed a level of testosterone as low as a post menopausal woman????  I guess you all won't have to worry about me turning into a hulkette any time soon.  :)
Prayer
  • Continued peace...
  • No infection or any other adverse reaction from tomorrow's surgery in the name of Jesus!!!
  • I am losing more time at work, so please pray for financial provision for our family.  Buying organic food has dramatically impacted the amount of money I spend for groceries each week!
  • Complete resolution of my back/hip issue!
  • That Strongman, Consecrated, Fire and I each would be drawn by the Holy Spirit, knitting our hearts to Jesus as individuals and as a family unit.
  • Peace and strength for Strongman as he once again will care for me during my recovery.  He has much responsibility on his shoulders!

Knowing I am not alone during this season comforts me.  Thank you all for your continued love, support and prayers.  I continue to witness the beauty of the Bride of Christ as she moves as Jesus moves!!!  You all are BEAUTIFUL!!!

With Much Love and Appreciation Always...
Beautiful Grace :)

Journey Through the Psalms Day 29

 Read Psalms 29, 59, 89, 119, 149.

‎"The Lord will give [unyielding and impenetrable] strength to His people; the Lord will bless His people with peace." (Psalm 29:11) Thank You, Lord, I feel like I'm living this verse out right now! I appreciate You!!! "Your word is a lamp to my feet and light to my path." Psalm 119:105 Step by step, You light my way. Keep Your word burning in my heart, so that my path remains fixed and destined for You!

Psalm of Beautiful Grace
Written after reading Psalm 119.
12/15/01 4:00 am

Teach me Your commandments,
That I might not sin against You.
Give me Your understanding,
That I may keep Your whole word.

I cry out to You with my soul- to You, my God.
For You alone can save me.

You are my Portion.
You are my Provider.

Your mercy endures forever,
And Your loving-kindness is poured out to me.
You are the Treasure that I seek.

I have sought for You my whole life!
I searched for You, before I even knew You.
My soul remembered the day of my creation,
The day Your awesome hand fashioned me
In my mother’s womb.

My spirit rejoices in the day of my salvation,
That day long ago.
You did not leave me in my tears.
You did not forsake me in my sins.

You provided a way for me, a path on which to walk.
Your Holy Spirit has led me in Your ways.
Strengthen me by Your Spirit,
That I would always obey Your commands.
For You delight in obedience, more than sacrifices.

Teach me to walk in Your ways, forevermore.
I will be pleasing to You all the days of my life.
Your salvation is never ending,
And my reward is eternity with You.

Let me sit at Your feet and worship You, my King.
Allow me to anoint You with my tears.
Your love is sweet, it touches my soul,
My spirit rejoices in Your touch.

You call me as a lover calls His beloved
With gentle cords and a soft voice.
Teach me Your love; Whisper Your heart.
Impart to me the ways that will touch Your heart.

Your eyes search.
Search for me, my Lord!
Let them rest on Your servant.

Your eyes are flaming; They are fire.
They pierce through the facade of men.
They view the heart.
Your eyes melt me!

Where can I go to hide from you?
Why would I ever want to hide from my strength,
My fortress?
For when I fall, You pick me up.
When I transgress, You wipe me clean.

All things are possible with You, my Abba.
You have the power to make all my ways straight.
Let me always rely on You.

My children will bless You, because of my ways.
Let Your holy name be praised!

You are perfect- the consummation of perfection.
Let Your perfection consume me.
Let Your ways bring me peace.

My enemies try to turn me from You,
But they will not succeed,
For I am in the palm of my Creator’s hand,
And no one may snatch me from You.

Strengthen me with Your love.
Let your Holy Fire burn in me.
Let me never put You to shame.
I’m after Your heart!

Journey Through the Psalms Day 24

Read Psalms 24, 54, 84, 114, 144.

I have never been able to identify with the Psalm writers' attitudes towards their enemies in light of Jesus teachings on how we are to treat those who hurt and use us; we must remember to bless and not curse. (Luke 6:28) We must remember that our enemies are not flesh and blood, but they are principalities, powers, rulers of the darkness of this world, and spiritual wickedness in high places. (Ephesians 6:12) I think it humbles us to remember we all have fallen at some point to the influence of the "dark side." Lord, empower me to treat others the way I desire to be treated! (Luke 6:31)

I have passed through the Valley of Baca (Weeping) and Holy Spirit has made it a place filled with blessings! Psalm 84:6 I will be singing Your praises all the day long!!! Psalms 84:4b

Journey through the Psalms Day 23

Reading Psalms 23, 53, 83, 113, 143.

Jesus as my Shepherd jumped out at me while reading Psalm 23. Lately, I have been depending on Jesus to lead me in the many decisions I face, but that is only one awesome aspect of what a shepherd does for his flock. He not only provides guideance, but also protection and provision. How awesome is that? The God of the universe is my Shepherd!!! Oh, how I love Him!!!

Journey Through the Psalms Day 19

Read Psalm 19, 49, 79, 109, 139.

Body, soul and spirit are made whole in You, Abba!  It is through not only knowing, but doing Your perfect law that the whole person is restored.  Many souls are sick and fractured because they resfused to submit to Your ways holding on to unforgiveness and offense.  Cleanse me, Holy Spirt, from hidden and unconscious faults.  You say, "No" because You know so much better than I, what is good for me.  By obeying Your word, the "Yes Blessings" are released of which cannot be measured.  Heart peace and joy overflow!!!  I will praise You forevermore!!!  Inspired by Psalm 19.

Journey Through the Psalms Day 16

Read Psalm 16, 46, 76, 106, 136.

I remember the season where sleep escaped me. It was during that time that Your voice was heard clearest because all the noise of day's busyness had ceased. Your counsel instructed my heart in the darkness of day and soul. "Let be and be still," says the Lord to all of you who struggle in the darkness. He is right there with you, open your ears to hear and heed His counsel. Thank You. Lord for Your Love and care. Your are a wonderful Father!!!!

Health Update

My Dear Friends,

It's been a while since the last update and many of you have been asking how I've been. I am grateful you are thinking about me. Thank You! :)

Physically, I am stronger, trimmer, and have greater endurance. My lifestyle change has been steady with the dramatic overhaul in my dietary choices and regular physical exercise. Emotionally, I am amazed at the peace in which I continue to walk. Overall, I am much healthier now than prior to the diagnosis of cancer! Thank You, Jesus!!!

There has been some confusion regarding the surgeries that are coming up. I am scheduled for the next phase of reconstruction on July 15th in which the surgeon will remove the expander from my right side and replace it with a permanent prosthesis. The expander is kind of like a framed balloon filled with a saline solution, which is used to stretch out the chest muscle and surrounding tissue in order to create a pocket for the permanent implant. The surgeon will also place a new expander in my left side. Remember, that nasty infection I developed in the left side? The original expander had to be removed due to that infection and had not been replaced.

After the surgery, each week, the left expander will be injected with 60cc of saline solution until it matches the right side. After the expansion, then the area must "rest" as the pocket forms on the left. This takes about three months. The final surgery to place the permanent prosthesis will be sometime in November or December.

This year has been full of tests, procedures, surgeries, diagnoses, and decisions, but through it all, Jesus has been there guiding and leading! I will continue to praise my Good Shepherd!!!!

Prayer Requests:

That my oncologist would not be offended by my personal choice to not pursue traditional adjunctive therapy. "Adjunctive therapy refers to any treatment that is used in conjunction with another to increase the chance of cure, or to increase the first treatment's efficacy. In other words, adjunctive therapy acts as an aid to the primary treatment." (from About.com).

I still need more practice in managing my new diet. I am finding it difficult to eat all the food that has been recommended. I just never ate that huge volume of food previously.

That the Lord would give me creative ways to prepare the fish I eat. Eating the same thing day after day gets boring.

No more infections!!!!!!!

Resolution of the GERD (gastro esophegeal reflux disease) symptoms I have been experiencing. That Jesus would reveal what is aggravating this problem. When I stopped drinking coffee, I started drinking peppermint tea, which unknown to me relaxes the muscle at the top of the stomach, allowing the stomach acid to backflow up into the esophagus. This irritates the esophageal lining and causes a feeling of burning or fullness. I stopped the tea weeks ago, but still continue to have bouts of discomfort.

I honestly believe that the attack of cancer is minor compared with the Goliath God truly wants to slay in me. That Goliath is the fear of man. It reared its ugly head last week when the oncologist's secretary wouldn't schedule an appointment with me until she spoke with the doctor. It sounds ridiculous now, but that really upset my peace at the time. Being part of the medical community for ~27 years has shown me that it is not forgiving of people who don't follow physician's advice without question. It is not my intent to be "non compliant." It is my intent to obey Jesus!!!

I am scheduled for blood word after my next menstrual cycle. The oncologist wants to monitor the level of estrogen in my blood. He continues to recommend surgical removal of my ovaries, but I am not feeling the Lord leading in that direction. The oncologist does not recognize the sweeping changes in my lifestyle as therapy.

Praise Reports:

The grace God has been pouring out in me in order to change my lifestyle.

The peace in which I am eveloped.

That He meets all of our financial needs.

Even though my peace was attacked last week, I recovered it quickly be reminding myself of what God told me last Christmas prior to the diagnosis, "Do not trust in the horses and chariots of men. Trust in me."

How my friends protect me and are concerned about my well being.

I am planning to participate in a 5k race the end of September. My goal is to finish, not place.

For the gift of physicians/surgeons. They are the hand of God expressed whether they realize it or not.

For technology. Attached are some still shots of my recent PET scan. Be blessed to witness the glory of God through His creation!

Thank you all again for your continued concern and care! I love and appreciate all of you!!!

With Much Love Always...

Beautiful Grace :)

P.S. Some of you have asked about the specifics of my dietary changes, and I have been happy to share in detail. However, I do want to make it clear that I am not saying that all breast cancer should be treated in the way that I have chosen. Having a personal relationship with God means that He leads us personally. The way He leads me is different then the way He leads others. We are all unique and don't have "cookie cutter" destinies. Seek the Lord, listen to His direction, and then follow it.

Journey Through the Psalms Day 14

Read Psalm 14, 44, 74, 104, 134.

‎"Through You" my spiritual enemies are pushed down. "Through You" I am delievered. "Through You" the territory, which rightfully belongs to Your bride is recovered. "Through You" Your turtledove's life is rescued from the wild beast. "Through You" my disease has been healed. "Through You" my foundation remains fixed and firm. "Through You" I will sing praise to You as long as I live!!!

Journey Through the Psalms Day 13

Read Psalm 13, 43, 73, 103, 133.

...Until I went into the sanctuary of God. Your sanctuary, my Lord, is so much more than a building. You are my Sanctuary, my Refuge, where ever I am. In the midst of every situation, I can run to You to keep me. Hold my right hand and lead me. Counsel me. Apart from my "Sanctuary," there is turmoil and unrest, but with You there is Peace. Thank You! I am grateful!!!

Journey Through the Psalms Day 12

Reading Ps 12, 42, 73, 102, 132.

Dear, "Singing God," I love to think about You singing over me, especially in the night. Your sweet voice sooths my soul lulling me to sleep in deep peace. I will praise You yet more and more for Your loving-kindness. ♥

Journey Through the Psalms Day 11

Reading Psalm 11, 41, 71, 101, 131.

Lord, You have sustained me on my bed of languishing. Only You could have touched my body and saved, not only its mortal frame, but my soul within me. You provided peace during the healing, and I will praise you all the days of my life telling everyone I meet about Your goodness and miraculous ways. I love You, my "Healer and Comforter."

Journey Through the Psalms- Day 10

Reading today, Psalm 10, 40, 70, 100, 130.  Write your reflections.

Jesus, I remember the times when it felt like you were far away from me, but that was just a feeling. In my most desperate, dark nights, You were closer to me than my stirred emotions could sense. Then you broke through my agitated soul and revealed Yourself in ways that I thought not possible for a man to experience. Thank You, the "One Who Hears My Cries," for hearing me in my humility and oppression and for intervening on my behalf. I will love You forever!!!

"Journey Through the Psalms" Day 9

Read and reflect on Psalm 9, 39, 69, 99, 129.

Jesus, You are the "Knower of All Things." You know my frailty and sins, my blunders and the transient nature of my life. Yet, I cry out to You and You rescue me. Spiritual enemies have taunted me from my youth, BUT they have not prevailed, because You have cut the cords of wickedness! No more do my enemies have the power to affect my soul, because You have rescued me from the pit and pulled me out of the mire. I walk on solid ground with You by my side. Thank You, Jesus, for being the "Knower of All Things!"
